My Background

I didn't choose driving instruction because it was easy. I chose it because I've spent my entire life keeping people safe, and that doesn't stop just because I hung up my uniform.

After 28 years serving New Zealand in the Army, both at home and overseas, I've operated everything from combat vehicles to armoured SUVs in some of the most demanding conditions in the world. I trained military personnel, worked as a Security Consultant in Iraq and Kurdistan, and drove stock and concrete trucks across New Zealand roads after returning home in 2019.

But the moment that changed everything was simpler than any of that. It was coming home to Whanganui. To my five daughters. To my four grandchildren. To my community.

In 2023 I obtained my Driver Instructor endorsement and took over MDT Driver Training. Not for the business. For the people.

Every student who gets in my car gets my full attention, my patience, and my genuine care. Because to me, this was never just a job. It never has been.
